Community Integration Program
Our Community Integration Program (COI) includes on-site services available at the Reisterstown office. Off-site services are available in the home of clients and in communities served by CIHS.
Community Intergration provides support, growth and hope for minors, adolescents and adults suffering from persistent psychiatric disabilities. Based on an individualized assessment of the presenting for rehabilitation services, it is the intent to provide a program of skill development classes focused on improving the quality of life for individuals in their personal recovery process. COMMUNITY INTEGRATION PROGRAM FOR ADULTS
GROUP ACTIVITIES
Offering a plethora of innovative activities, CIHS challenges clients into actively participating in their rehabilitation. The group activities will provide psycho – educational skills building to improve the quality of functioning. The goal is for clients to reduce target behaviors and to improve their ability to integrate in their perspective communities.
Topics addressed in group activities include interpersonal, social, anger, coping, communication, health, financial and time management skills. Participation in our activities will assist client in improving their self-efficacy.
Our professional staff integrates therapy into group sessions (onsite and offsite). Staff will focus on clients’ needs and goals awhile exposing them to different activities that can highlight their skills. The groups will be scheduled bi-weekly to ensure consistency track our client’s growth. Progress notes and attendance will be monitored as well as client surveys to achieve quality assurance. Listed below are the reoccurring groups that will be facilitated by well trained and educated professional staff.
Art
The Art group initiative is to cultivate a safe environment where clients can collectively process and share their emotions and feelings through art. Client’s will engage in peer focused activities allowing them to foster interpersonal relationships. Clients also will be introduced to various artworks as well enhancing their individual artistic skills and expression.
Yoga
The yoga group initiative is developed for all levels and is geared to enhancing self-control, discipline and mindfulness. Clients will be equipped with the fundamentals of yoga and learn the positive outcomes it has on people. The yoga group will encourage clients to practice breathing, flexibility, meditating and engaging in positive thought.
Music
The Music group initiative creates an enthusiastic and engaging curriculum which introduces clients to the fundamentals of music. Clients will obtain an in-depth understanding of musical composition, theory and diversity. Clients will be exposed to new instruments and learn the beneficial effects it has on mental wellness. The group will teach clients to utilize music as a healthy outlet in which they can use to express themselves effectively. The music group will improve client’s self-awareness and how they conceptualize their life. Music will be the catalyst to their personal development and will expose them to an upgraded musical experience
Occupational Readiness
The OR program initiative is designed to bridge the gap between skill set deficits and career outcomes for the clients. Clients will be empowered and taught useful tools and skills that will allow them to remain or join the workforce. Clients will be challenged. Achievement in their skills will be evaluated throughout their participation in the OR program.
Young Men Group
The YM group initiative is for young men to engage and collaborate supportive solutions to the challenges they might endure. The YM purpose is to create an impactful weekly forum where they can formulate strong bonds, improve on socialization and maintain accountability with their goals.
Young Ladies Group
The YL group initiative is for young ladies to engage and collaborate supportive solutions to challenges they might endure. The YL purpose is to create an impactful biweekly forum where they can formulate strong bonds, improve on socialization and maintain accountability with their goals. The YL group will discuss topics and encourage one another to process and communicate their opinions. The goal is to empower and educate the new generation. Improving the YL’s self-efficacy offers them multiple opportunities of success.

The COI Program is open Monday through Friday from 9am – 8pm and 9am – 5 pm on Saturdays
